Legal
Privacy policy.
Last updated: 2026. This policy explains what personal information Test Your Genome collects, how it's used, and what your rights are. Short version: we collect very little, we don't sell anything, and we don't handle any of your genetic data.
What we collect.
Test Your Genome is a static content site. The vast majority of visitors never give us any personal information at all — you read the pages, click through to Dante Labs if you choose, and leave. The categories of data we may collect are:
- Analytics data. Anonymised page views, referrers, device type, and rough geographic location via a privacy-respecting analytics provider. No cookies, no cross-site tracking.
- Contact form submissions. When you email us or fill out our contact form, your email address and message are stored in our inbox and used only to reply to you.
- Affiliate click tracking. When you click an affiliate link, the destination provider (Dante Labs, via Rewardful) sets a first-party cookie so a commission can be attributed if you complete a purchase. That cookie belongs to the destination, not to us.
What we do not collect
- No genetic data. Ever.
- No health information.
- No account creation, no user profiles.
- No advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels.
- No newsletter list unless you explicitly opt in.
How we use it.
Analytics data is used to understand which content people find useful and to identify pages that need improvement. Contact form submissions are used to respond to your message. Affiliate click data is used by the affiliate networks to attribute sales — we see aggregate reports of clicks and conversions, not individual buyer identities.
Third parties.
We use the following third parties, each with their own privacy policies:
- Dante Labs and Rewardful. Affiliate link tracking. See dantelabs.com and rewardful.com for their policies.
- Our web host. Standard server-side access logs.
- Google Fonts. Fonts are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may collect standard request metadata.
Your rights.
Under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and similar frameworks, you have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email privacy@testyourgenome.com to exercise any of these rights.
In practice, unless you've emailed us, we hold no personal data that could be tied to you. Your analytics footprint is anonymised at collection.
Changes.
If we update this policy, we'll update the date at the top and note material changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
