Test Your Genome earns commission from certain outbound links. Here's exactly how that works, what we earn, and how it affects our recommendations.

The short version.

When you click through to Dante Labs from a link on our site and complete a purchase, Dante pays us a commission. Your price is not affected. Using our GENOME code saves you 10% on top of whatever price Dante is currently listing.

Who pays us, and for what.

Dante Labs runs their affiliate program through Rewardful. Our tracking parameter (?via=GenomeTesting) attaches to every outbound link, and a first-party cookie stores that attribution for 45 days. If you order anything from Dante within that window, we receive a commission on the sale.

Commission rates and cookie duration are set by Dante and can change. Nothing you pay changes based on whether an affiliate cookie is set.

Where we mention providers other than Dante — Sequencing.com, 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, Nebula — those references are not affiliate-linked. Where we do add a new affiliate relationship in the future, this page will list it.

How this affects our recommendations.

We recommend Dante Labs because they are, in our assessment, the best-value consumer WGS option currently available. We also earn commission from that recommendation. Both of these things are true, and it would be dishonest to pretend the second doesn't create incentive pressure.

How we manage it: we publish the same critical information we'd publish if we weren't earning commission. Dante's slow turnaround, uneven customer service, and the April 2026 acquisition situation are all covered on this site because they are true and material to a buying decision. If we deleted that information to protect commissions, you would eventually notice and lose trust in everything else we say. That trade-off is a bad one for us as well as for you.

If a better-value or more reliable consumer WGS competitor emerges, we will cover it. If Dante's operational situation degrades meaningfully post-acquisition, we will say so on this page and rethink our recommendation.

What we don't do.

  • We do not receive free products from Dante or any other provider.
  • We do not accept payment for coverage, favourable reviews, or specific claims.
  • We do not fabricate testimonials, star ratings, or user quotes.
  • We do not use synthetic urgency ("only 3 left!", fake countdown timers).
